Svensson Nøkleby is strengthening its commitment to people, expertise, and organizational development and has hired Morten Vigen Kolek as its new Head of HR. He comes from the position of Talent Acquisition Manager at TOMRA and has previous experience from, among others, Deloitte and Econa.
The legal industry is changing. New technology, evolving expectations from employees and clients, and new skills requirements are placing ever greater demands on how law firms develop both people and organization. As part of this effort, Svensson Nøkleby is now establishing a dedicated HR role.

Kolek will be responsible for HR and organizational development, with a particular focus on recruitment, talent development, leadership development, and capability building. The goal is to further develop Svensson Nøkleby as an attractive workplace and a strong professional community, and to ensure that the firm has the expertise required to meet clients' needs in the future as well.

Developments in the legal industry are making this increasingly important. Artificial intelligence is already streamlining parts of legal work and, at the same time, helping to change which skills will matter for the lawyers of the future. Among other things, there is growing emphasis on business acumen, judgment, relationship-building, and collaboration, in addition to strong legal expertise.

Kolek is looking forward to being part of this development:

— What attracted me to Svensson Nøkleby was the combination of a strong professional environment, a clear regional position, and a culture shaped by talented people. At the same time, I feel this is a place where I can help make a real mark. To me, good HR work is about creating real value for both employees and the business. I want to help make Svensson Nøkleby an even better place to work, while we develop our people, professional communities, and organization in a shared direction, says Kolek.

A strategic commitment

For Chair of the Board Kine Yngsdal Nystrøm, the hire is about far more than strengthening an administrative function.

— Our most important competitive advantage is the people and expertise we have in the firm. If we are to keep developing, we need to be just as professional in how we develop people, leaders, and the organization as we are in our delivery to clients. With Morten on the team, we gain both solid experience and a dedicated resource who can challenge us and help us work even more systematically on culture, capability, and talent development, says Nystrøm.

Kolek will, among other things, work on further developing the firm's recruitment efforts, employee and talent development, leadership development, and capability building. An important part of the role will also be to help build strong professional communities and to facilitate employees' development through different phases of their careers.

— I believe the best results are achieved when people feel seen, are able to develop, and understand how they contribute to a shared goal. HR should not be something that sits on the sidelines of the business. It should help us succeed better as an organization, and in turn deliver even better results for our clients, says Kolek.
